BMW has unveiled more details about its highly anticipated Neue Klasse platform, set to debut in 2025. The revolutionary electric vehicle architecture promises to deliver unprecedented range, performance, and technology integration, marking a new chapter in BMW’s electrification journey.

Platform Innovation

The Neue Klasse platform represents BMW’s largest investment in new technology to date, featuring:

  • Next-generation battery technology with 20% higher energy density
  • 800V architecture enabling ultra-fast charging
  • New electric drive units with improved efficiency
  • Advanced software integration for enhanced autonomous capabilities

Range and Performance

BMW claims the new platform will enable:

  • Up to 600 miles of range on a single charge
  • 0-60 mph acceleration in under 3 seconds for performance models
  • Charging speeds up to 350kW
  • Significantly reduced vehicle weight through innovative materials

Production Plans

The first Neue Klasse vehicle will be a mid-size sedan competing in the 3 Series segment, followed by a sporty SUV. BMW plans to introduce up to six Neue Klasse models within the first 24 months of production.

The company is investing heavily in retooling its factories for Neue Klasse production, with its new Hungarian plant in Debrecen serving as the primary manufacturing hub for these next-generation electric vehicles.
