Stellantis Ram ProMaster EV Enters US Fleet Market

The 2025 Ram ProMaster EV is here — a purpose-built electric van targeting commercial fleet operators with 162 miles of range, 3,020 lbs payload, and 8,600 lbs towing.

Stellantis has begun delivering the Ram ProMaster EV to US fleet customers, marking the brand’s first fully electric commercial van and a direct competitor to the Ford E-Transit and Mercedes eSprinter. The van is available to commercial orders now, with broader availability expected in early 2026.

Key Specs

  • Motor: Single front-wheel-drive motor, 268 hp, 302 lb-ft torque
  • Battery: 110 kWh (gross), ~95 kWh usable
  • Range: EPA-estimated 162 miles (city), 140 miles (combined)
  • Payload: Up to 3,020 lbs
  • Towing: Up to 8,600 lbs
  • DC Fast Charging: 150 kW peak (10% to 80% in ~28 minutes)
  • Onboard Charger: 11 kW AC (0-100% in ~10 hours)

Configurations

The ProMaster EV is available in three roof heights (low, medium, high) and two wheelbases (136-inch standard, 159-inch extended). Cargo volumes range from 366 cu ft to 540 cu ft depending on configuration. A window van configuration for passenger use is also available.

The front-wheel-drive layout is notable — unlike the rear-wheel-drive E-Transit — which Stellantis says provides better traction when loaded and a tighter turning radius (38.4 feet curb-to-curb) critical for urban delivery routes.

Fleet-First Approach

Stellantis is targeting commercial operators rather than retail buyers. The van ships standard with a 12.3-inch touchscreen running the Uconnect 5 system, with optional telematics integration through Ram’s Fleet Hub platform. The platform includes vehicle health monitoring, driver behavior scoring, and route optimization tools.

Pricing for fleet orders starts at $52,990 (including $1,995 destination), though volume discounts and federal commercial EV tax credits (up to $7,500 for qualified buyers) can significantly reduce effective cost.

Competition

The ProMaster EV competes directly with the Ford E-Transit (269 hp, 126-159 miles range depending on configuration), which has been on sale since 2021 and holds the majority of the US commercial EV van market. The Mercedes eSprinter, with its 113 kWh battery and 300-mile estimated range, targets a slightly higher payload segment.

Stellantis is entering a growing but competitive segment. Commercial EV adoption is accelerating as fleet operators look to reduce fuel costs and meet sustainability targets — the ProMaster EV’s 162-mile range is sufficient for most urban delivery cycles, which average under 100 miles per day.
